Five UK tourist attractions have been recognised in offering the very best in accessibility for disabled visitors at the first ever Accessible Britain Awards. These include Bristols historic passenger steamship Brunels ss Great Britain, recognised as the Best Heritage Venue; Londons Science Museum took the award for Best Family Venue; the Best Free Venue accolade went to the Locomotion: National Railway Museum in Shildon, County Durham; the Best Active Venue award was taken by the Cairngorm Funicular Railway and Ski Centre; and environmental centre The Eden Project in Cornwall captured the hearts of consumers voting for the Readers Choice Award. All were judged to illustrate best practice in providing accessible, inspirational and inclusive days out.
